About Sam
Hello! I’m Sam Miller, and I recently joined the Infusion Access Foundation as an Advocacy Associate. In this role, I’ll work to push for policies that enhance access, affordability, and equity for patients requiring infusion therapy. With a background in policy analysis, lobbying, and grassroots advocacy at the state and federal levels, I’m grateful for the opportunity to join the team and make an impact.
A bit about me — I was born and raised in Chicago, the land of deep-dish pizza, Italian beef sandwiches, and ketchup-less hot dogs. After earning my undergraduate degree in media from the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), I worked as a lighting designer for television shows in Chicago, including Empire, Chicago PD, and Shameless. While I enjoyed the creative side of the job, I wanted to make a more meaningful impact on people’s lives. This led me to the O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!), where I earned a Master of Public Affairs in 2021. At the same time, I interned at the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities and worked for the City of Bloomington, Indiana’s Community & Family Resources Department. It was in Bloomington where I also met my wonderful fiancée, Olivia.
After graduation, Olivia and I moved to the Washington, DC, area, where I served as the State and Federal Advocacy Manager for the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association. However, we decided we wanted to be closer to Olivia’s family in El Paso, Texas, so we’re planning to move to Austin next March. This transition also allowed me to continue my advocacy career here with the Infusion Access Foundation. I’m excited to engage with the infusion community and look forward to building connections in this important space
