Applications for our next Champions Weekend are closing in just a few weeks! If you’ve been on the fence about applying, you might be asking yourself if you’re the “right fit.” We want to clear up a few common myths:
Myth: “I don’t know enough about policy or legislation.”
Reality: You don’t need any prior advocacy experience, policy knowledge, or past trips to Capitol Hill. We are looking for everyday patients from all backgrounds. If you are on an infused or injected therapy and have ever experienced an insurance barrier, treatment delay, or plan denial—your story is valid, and you belong here.
Myth: “My health or physical limitations will make it too hard to participate.”
Reality: This event is designed by and for people living with chronic conditions. While our daily schedule is full, it is relaxed, approachable, and allows for frequent breaks. Aside from one brief area with three steps, the space is accessible. Tell us what accommodations you need, and our team will handle the rest so you can focus on resting, connecting, and learning.
Myth: “I can’t afford the travel expenses.”
Reality: Cost will not stand in the way of your voice. The Infusion Access Foundation fully covers your flights, ground transportation, lodging, and meals.
Myth: “It’s going to require a huge time commitment after the weekend ends.”
Reality: We look at Champions Weekend as the start of a long-term partnership, but we keep the post-event lift light and flexible. After the weekend, we stay connected through Slack, invite you to join us for Capitol Hill Day to speak directly with lawmakers, bring you into advisory discussions, and pair you up to support our Infusion Guides. You stay involved at the level that works best for your health and schedule.
If insurance has ever gotten between you and the care your doctor prescribed, you are qualified. Don’t let self-doubt hold you back from a transformative weekend with a supportive community that truly gets it.
